This week we break away from my usual photography session to bring you the weird-est press release I have seen for a long time -

Marvel Comics announces the launch of Spider-Man India.

Check out the sketches of spidy's new "avatar" - Pavitr Prabhakar (no kidding! Pavitr Prabhakar!)

Here's a byte of the press quote - "Spider-Man India interweaves the local customs, culture and mystery of modern India, with an eye to making Spider-Man's mythology more relevant to this particular audience. Readers of this series will not see the familiar Peter Parker of Queens under the classic Spider-Man mask, but rather a new hero - a young, Indian boy named Pavitr Prabhakar. As Spider-Man, Pavitr leaps around rickshaws and scooters in Indian streets, while swinging from monuments such as the Gateway of India and the Taj Mahal."

Venus' "transit" over the sun was a much revered event last week. I too tried joining the bandwagon by taking some pics of the event using my ill-equiped digicam.

Failed experiment. But the pictures do look lovely if you ignore the intent :)

I like the lens flare in this one

This is using the floppy disk magnetic material as a filter

Oh BTW...got a GMAIL account..yay! Thanks Deepak. 1000MB space..send me mail people :) kawaljit at gmail.com. Bring 'em on!

Deepak on his last trip to Shanghai blogged about the laughing mannequin...turns out that it does'nt take long for India to import stuff from China; this is what I saw yesterday in a Bombay shopping mall -
